Pista x SVJ
I have been waiting to shoot these to cars for a long time. In my opinion, these two cars have made a crazy impact on the car industry because of their desirability. If you were to ask me which one am I taking, the Pista or the SVJ? I would choose the … DRUM ROLL PLEASEEEE!!!………………………. I will tell you at the end of this entry :D
So the silver Pista is owned by the same person that owned the Red Pista that I shot (click here to see that Pista). Before I say anything else, I know you are wondering why…… WHY, would you sell a car and buy the same car but in a different color? Well, let me ask you this, if someone offered you a hefty amount of money for something that you loved, would you sell it? and since you loved it so much, would you buy another one? Well, that’s what happened. The owner had a beautiful Red Pista with an exposed red carbon fiber interior. When I was talking to him about it, he absolutely loved the car and told me, and emphasized, that he does not think it will be going anywhere anytime soon. About 4 months later, the car was sold. I went to him and said what happened, I thought it wasn’t going anywhere. He said to me that he got an offer for the car that was too good to pass up. So I said fair enough, and a few months later this Pista was in the garage. This Pista has every carbon option you can possibly think of, so it’s no slouch either.
The SVJ is owned by a very good friend of the Pista owner. Believe it or not, that SVJ is completely stock except for 2 things, one of them we will get into in a little bit, the other one is the rims. The rims are center-lock forged rims from Brixton forged. Other than that, completely stock; the paint is a special option from Ad Personam, the way it looks, the carbon, everything. The second aftermarket part is the exhaust. Let me tell you, this is easily the loudest Lamborghini I have heard. It has a Gintani exhaust. The cool thing that I love about Gintani’s exhaust for this car is that this exhaust actually changes the pitch of the sound, making the Aventador sound like a Murcielago, but a LOUD Murcielago, which is a very, very good thing. This car also has one more trick up its sleeve, its alter ego is a flamethrower. When this car revs and downshifts, you get a lot of flames coming out of that exhaust. The exhaust is so good that the SVJ owner peer pressured the Pista Owner to get one for his car. So the Pista has a Gintani exhaust as well which sounds amazing and is very loud too, but not as loud as the SVJ.
Now, which one would I pick? Let’s start with the Pista. The Pista is a fantastic car. In my opinion, I think it is one of the best-looking cars that Ferrari has ever produced. I love everything about it, I wish it was a naturally aspired V8 instead of a turbocharged V8. I also love the Tailormade program Ferrari offers, anything you can imagine for an option, they will do.
The SVJ, I call this car a Flex mobile. This means the car is amazing in every way but underdelivers on an important aspect. When I use that term, I usually use it in a bad way, but in this case, it’s not a bad thing. Lamborghini’s are VERY good at 3 things, 1- looking insane, 2- sounding insane, 3- making you feel like you own the world. I think that is the reason why Lamborghini has been so successful this past decade. Because they put feeling into their cars. I call it a flex mobile because the SVJ looks insane, sounds ridiculously good, doors go up, has a naturally aspirated V12 which you can’t beat, turns heads, holds its value very well, draws a crowd anywhere it goes, and makes you feel like you own the world. The only problem with Lamborghini’s, when compared to a lot of other supercars on the market, is that they are not the best driving cars. They aren’t comfortable, and they are not smooth. In my opinion, the single-clutch gearbox of this car ruins it for me. The way a car feels and drives is very important to me personally because I like to drive.
If I had a supercar I would drive it non-stop, a supercar wouldn’t be a weekend car for me, it would be a “very chance I get” car. If the SVJ had a double-clutch gearbox, I would buy one, hell, I would be two. But because the Pista offers such a better driving experience, I am choosing the Pista as my pick between these two.
Which one would you pick? Hope you enjoy the photos!
