Welcome Back 911 Turbo S
You might be wondering about the title, “Welcome back? the 911 turbos never went anywhere, Tevyn, what are you talking about?” Let me explain.
This car belongs to the same person that owns the Ferrari 488 Pista I shot about a month ago (go see those photos because that car is way too beautiful to not see, and honestly, pictures don’t do that car justice). The owner has great taste in cars, a matter a fact, he has been through quite a few. Porsche 911 Turbo S, Ferrari 488, Ferrari 488 Pista, Ferrari 812 Superfast, Tesla P100D, Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG just to name a few. He bought this car in 2014 brand new. From what I’ve heard, it has been one of, if not, his favorite car out of all of the cars that he has owned. The Porsche had some work done to it. It has new headers, a downpipe, a tune, and I believe makes somewhere in the ballpark of 700 horsepower. With my experience riding in the car, I can tell why this car is one of his favorites. This car is fast, but it’s not the fastest out there. This car looks fantastic, but other cars are better looking than it. This car drives amazing, but there are other cars out there that drive better. But do you know why I love this car? I love it because I don’t think that there is any other car out on the market that delivers everything in one car. Usually, when you look for supercars, there will be compromises. If you are looking for a fast car that can shred times around a track, you are compromising comfort. If you are looking for a comfortable touring car that drives fantastic, you are usually comprising speed, you aren’t going to get the fastest car out there. This car is great at everything; it is so comfortable to a point that you could drive it every day, it’s super fast, and it drives well. I can probably think of one other car that even comes close to this, but it’s more expensive.
In late 2016, the owner sold the Porsche. Now here comes the welcome back part…
The owner has another beautiful house that they use for trying to get some peace and quiet trying to escape the hectic, fast pace lifestyle of Northern New Jersey and New York City. By this house, there is beautiful scenery, somewhat empty driving roads, and beaches. Now, how do you make trips to a beautiful house, driving roads, and beaches better than that already sounds? You get a really nice, sporty, comfortable car. The owner checked out a few different cars, but none of them really seemed to call his name. So he did something people don’t usually do, he bought back the same car. Not the same kind of car, the EXACT SAME car he bought brand new in 2014.
That is what I call true love. I love to see someone love a car so much that they buy it back 4 years after they sold it and enjoy it just like they bought a brand new car. It’s things like this that allow me to enjoy what I do. Enjoy the photos.
